Student Roles

Page history last edited by ms.munroe 14 years, 8 months ago

Notes about student roles: Student roles are an essential part of this class. They should start quickly and quietly. A discussion around fairness and effectiveness needs to take place. You are required to do every single student role at least two times. I also think that there is room for bonus points here...somewhere.

Task List

Tech lead/Dictionary: The tech lead must be very responsible because tech is expensive. Everyone should be trained to do tech lead, however it will become apparent that some people are more qualified then others to do tech. If you need help in running the tech, do not be shy, ask an expert. Tech is expensive and unpredictable and this class depends on it. Turn on the projector. Start the music. Open a web page of choice - or video of choice.

Timekeeper: It is your job to time our activities and communicate our time restraints.  Write due dates on the whiteboard. Opening activity should only take 7 minutes at the end of 7 minutes it should be marked. Marking should take 3 minutes. Transitions will have a certain number of seconds attached on them. If we do plank - you time us. Remind bonus game when it is time to go.

Motivator: Notice and give compliments, support everyone in the room to achieve the maximum success. Honour the individual gifts in the room with genuine comments. Lead class critiques and discussions. When we do what we are supposed to do in the time allotted to us you congratulate us and give us a check mark. 100 check marks equals a reward day. Names up during opening activity or meeting. Activity Facilitator: Organize people and keep speakers list.

Attendance: Smile and be welcoming to your classmates. Remind them to enter the class quietly. Take attendance and then hand it Ms. Munroe. If we have a guest visitor you will go meet them at the office. Take them on a short tour and then bring them to the class, show them the good for you board, share any school wide projects we are working on.

Bonus Game: The last ten minutes of class check with Ms. Munroe to see if we will be having bonus game. If we are, you get to pick and lead the game of choice. . . Then once everyone is ready explain the game you want to play.

Positive Culture Wall: Update the Quotes Wall, the list of Music that Matters, and the list of Movies Everyone Should See. Please use your best writing and contribute only what you believe to be the best culture.

Equipment/ Student Roles Sign out: Check off that everyone plugged in and signed off properly. Don't waste electricity, our school is run on non-renewable energy re.

D2L Content WritersYou remind them of homework for next class. Content writing is obviously really important. Open D2L project news and update blog.
